Brent Klinkum
Originally from New Zealand, where he spent more time in the mountains than studying, Brent Klinkum moved to France after several years of travelling. In 1994 he founded Transat Projects (ex-Transat Video), an association with a mandate to curate audiovisual programmes and exhibitions that strive to create a diversity of contexts and situations in order to reach out to a public who seldom visits cultural spaces. Aside from artistic residencies and producing work, Transat has developed numerous participatory projects involving architecture, cartography, sound and walking. Until 2001, he was also deputy director of the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Basse-Normandie, and co-director of the festival Video Art Plastique.
