Karl Lemieux and BJ Nilsen at Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville

On 18 May Karl Lemieux and BJ Nilsen will be presenting two collaborative works, Unearthed and Yujiapu, for five 16 mm projectors and soundtrack at Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville in Victoriaville, Quebec. The source materials for Unearthed come from a landscape at the limits of industrialisation and the wide expanses of the Arctic, on the Russian-Norwegian border. Yujiapu features a modern Chinese city that has been abandoned halfway through its construction. The recent audiovisual collaborations are amply nuanced and deeply reflective works.
