Joris Strijbos
Joris Strijbos (NL) is a Rotterdam-based artist whose work focuses on the synaesthetic relationship and interaction between moving image and sound. His work is inspired by the ongoing research in the fields of cybernetics, emergent systems, artificial life and the communication of networked groups. Recently he has been working on a series of kinetic audiovisual installations and new media performances that create multi-sensorial compositions. Strijbos studied ArtScience at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. He received his Master’s at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. His work has been widely shown at festivals, galleries and museums such as Ars Electronica in Linz, Sonic Acts Festival in Amsterdam, DEAF Biennale Rotterdam, Woodstreet Galleries Pittsburgh, the WRO International Media Art Biennale in Wroclaw, and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. jorisstrijbos.nl
