Jana Winderen - Pasvikdalen

The installation version of Jana Winderen’s sound piece Pasvikdalen (2014) is playing all day at NIBIO Svanhovd. Pasvikdalen is based on recordings made both above and under water in the Pasvik valley. ‘Drifting away from a state of stability, blurring acceleration, moving out of sight, but not out of mind. Invisible but audible, the consequences reveal themselves through the silence of species we have never heard.’ The work was a commission of Dark Ecology/Sonic Acts. The live premiere of Pasvikdalen took place on 27 February 2015 at the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Amsterdam, as part of the Sonic Acts festival 2015.
